Title: Changes
Artists: Aquarela (Philippines)
Price: Rp75,000 (excluding shipping fee)
Description: The romantic couple Miguel and Evelyn as Aquarela were back with the second album “Changes” in 2008. In this album they continued to express their love and passion for the bossa nova and samba, but here the word ‘originality’ appeared much stronger than before. They took a remarkable move to go on futher by making their own songs. More colors were added, from acoustic guitar, hypnotic percussion, smooth jazz groove to sax attack. There’s also songs written in French and Tagalog. A lot of changes were made without betraying their love and passion towards the lovely Brazilian music (with a little flamenco touch by the ‘el mariachi’ Miguel) and still appeared as beautiful as ever. Bossa nova, acoustic, smooth jazz lovers would love this album, also those who don’t care of the genre but love the ear-catchy, melodious tunes or even if you’re looking for an album as the accompaniment of your relaxing hours.

Title: Bossanova Affair
Artists: Aquarela (Philippines)
Price: Rp75,000 (excluding shipping fee)
Description: If you wonder what could appear from the combination of French and Philippines, the result could be bossa nova! Real life and stage couple Miguel and Evelyn Juteau has been active in the Filipino music scene since 1997, but only about 10 years after they released their debut album entitled “Bossa Nova Affair”. This album will melt all bossa lovers particularly those who look for the authentic bossa touch along with the romantic, relaxing and cool-tropical breeze tunes. Aquarela brings back the reminisicence of those golden moments when bossa was just got its breath of life. The combination of Miguel and Evelyn are just beautiful, it will remind you of João and Astrud Gilberto’s classic duets. What makes it even interesting is the way Miguel added some Spanish flamenco guitar playing here and there without loosing up all the sacred essence of the authentic bossa. If you love the smooth, relaxing and seducing classy bossa nova, this album is really a must.

Title: White Lilies
Artists: Imela Kei
Price: Rp35,000 (excluding shipping fee)
Description: We love Imela Kei’s vocal in Ten 2 Five for many years. Her rich and mature vocal can appear romanticly smooth or strong when needed, and that’s what we love from Ten 2 Five besides their catchy, melodious tunes and simple but meaningful lyrics. Now Imela continues her journey alone by pursuing a solo career, producing this CD as her debut. Yes, this album will give us the chance to hear her lovely voice again, but other than that, interestingly she brought 7 guest stars to collaborate with her (one for each song) including The Trees and the Wild, Notturno, Dzeek, Massromantic, Aditya, Amanda and Mike’s. 7 artists, 7 sounds. But all has Imela’s breath inside. Imela’s excited with her project which resulting an album, we are excited too. Let’s support her in this new journey and listen to her creative idealism by purchasing this album.

Title: Dancing Soul
Artists: Nita Aartsen
Price: Rp55,000 (excluding shipping fee)
Description: Having a steady career for 25 years is not easy, but Nita Aartsen has shown her endurance in keeping it alive in rising curve. She’s famously known as the lady who can play jazz and classical or the combination just as good, and her background in both corners make her piano playing stands differently than others. Besides playing the standards and classical, she also has Latins like bossa as one of her specialties. After releasing All Nite Out with her Quatro about 3 years ago, she’s back with a new album entitled “Dancing Soul”. This time she’s surrounded by circle of friends supporting her such as Michael Paulo, Agam Hamzah, Bintang Indrianto, Donny Suhendra, Anda, Tompi, Bang Saat (Saat Syah) and many more. For the fans of Matthew Sayersz you can hear him sing in “Corcovado”. An all star cast for a unique album, it’s a must have.

Title: No 1
Artists: Supersonic
Price: Rp40,000 (excluding shipping fee)
Description: Tohpati continues his rockin’ path by establishing a new group of three named Supersonic. With full spirit of youth, together with the young bassist that usually plays fusion Kristian Dharma and the alumni of Indonesian Idol season 2 Glenn Waas he brought energetic, upbeat and fast. That’s probably the reason of why he chose Supersonic as the name. Interestingly, this album shows a redline with Tohpati’s early career through one of the track titled “Khayalanku”. This one was a big hit in the early 90s in his former band Halmahera. As the original which was more into pop-jazz fusion still being played in many radio stations up until now, this time we can enjoy the hard rockin’ version of it inside the album. If you are a hard rock fans who loves speed and rebelious style or you simply want to know how hard Tohpati can go into rock, this one is yours. Rock on!
